blocking & program rehearsal

Late (10am) na kong nakadating sa Camp Aguinaldo, cz me nilakad pa ako nung maaga. Tapos na silang mag practice ng blocking but naabutan ko naman ang program rehearsal. Andun ang mga regulars except Mr. Glenn and General Boysie. Dumating din ang grupo nila Amy Fischer at Sophia Arzadon, Emma Barquerros, Joy Reyes & Susan Gaffud, Sol, Lemon and Fe Ramos. Nag practice sila Rey Martin, Lani Gavino, June So at Amy Fischer ng invocation at napaiyak pa si Baby Lucia sa ganda ng boses nila, lalo na ni Rey. Ang ganda talaga ng blending ng boses nilang 4. yung mga participants lang ng Manila Sounds ang pinapunta sa MPD for their rehearsal dahil hindi sila magkatagpo-tagpo. We went home after taking our lunch cz we have to rest for a long day tomorrow.

This bright Saturday morning a beautiful mass was celebrated by Father Lucio (Spanish priest/theology professor from UST - ang saya na naman ni bespren Atty Mar) attended by RMHS principal and faculty and of course by our batch plus a few from other batch(es?!) Sorry guys medyo na-late kami ni Bot, naabutan namin ay ang pagbabasa na ni Cora MM ng second reading.

Then followed by offering of flowers sa monument ni RM then kodakan blues.

Up to the second floor for the blessing of the Library.... Ang ganda ng library, napakaaliwalas. May paagaw pa ng coins, siyempre dambahan sa sahig, mayroon din naman akong naagaw. Ini-unveil yung marker which conveys the dedication of the library by Batch 73. Nag-speech si Sir Glenn, then yung principal tapos si Ma'am Teh. And then again endless clicking ng mga digicams para sa walang katapusang picture-picture!!!!

Tuwang-tuwa ang principal as she expressed her deep appreciation sa batch 73. She informed that because of the "beautiful library" she volunteered RMHS Espana to be the venue of a national meeting of teachers (???) - pasensiya na po, di ko masyadong narinig yung sinabi ni Madam Principal. Ang masasabi ko lang mga ka-batch talagang kudos to all who have made the project a worthy endeavor we can all be very proud of.

After the blessing, may mga ladies who will be going to Camp Aguinaldo Officers' Club for rehearsals, setting-up the decoration, coordinating for other logistics.

So tonight is the night - chica update na lang mamaya - live and direct from where the action is - the Jade Anniversary of RMHS Batch 73 and grand alumni homecoming...

Ramon Magsaysay

Ramón Magsaysay , 1907-57, president of the Philippines (1953-57). When the Japanese invaded the Philippines (1941), he joined the army and was commissioned a captain. A guerrilla leader throughout the Japanese occupation, he was named (1945) military governor of Zambales province by Gen. Douglas MacArthur. While serving in the Philippine Congress (1946-50), Magsaysay presented a plan for subduing the Hukbalahap (Huk) guerrillas, which led to his appointment as secretary of national defense by President Elpidio Quirino . He reformed the army, captured the top members of the Communist party, and fought the Huks, combining strong military action with a land resettlement program. After a dispute with President Quirino, however, Magsaysay resigned from his post (1953). He left the ruling Liberal party and ran for president on the Nationalist ticket, defeating Quirino by a large majority. As president, he cooperated closely with the United States and pursued a program of land and governmental reform. He was favored to win reelection to a second term, but died in an airplane crash (1957) before the voting began.
